We like throwing shapes in our family. Ever since Frog was big enough to sit and bounce she’s been into dancing. Her baby sister has recently also discovered the art of the baby bounce and claps her hands as soon as a big beat kicks in. One event I’ve always wanted to take my kids to is Big Fish Little Fish, billed as a “family rave with all the excitement of a mini festival”. Up until now, it’s always been out of our reach, because we live in Devon and everyone knows all the cool stuff happens in London. Well, not any more.
BFLF is coming to Exeter, with a jungle-themed launch party this Sunday at The Pheonix. It’s going to be the first regular BFLF event outside of the M25 and we’re more than a bit excited to be going along.
The event includes music from DJs, a multi-sensory dancefloor with glitter canons, bubbles and a giant parachute dance, along with craft tables, murals, a playdoh table, tents, tunnels, baby chill out space, ball pool and (come to mama) a licensed bar for the grown-ups.
Ahead of the launch party on Sunday we’ve been flexing our dancing muscles and limbering up with a regular living room disco, courtesy of Frog’s current girl-crush Taylor Swift. The baby’s also been getting involved, choosing to rave at a rather less sociable hour of 3am…
Have you been to a Big Fish Little Fish rave before? Any tips for us?

That’s EXACTLY the way I’d describe it Jodie. She takes it very seriously and heaven forbid anyone should try and steal her limelight or bust in on her moves!
