It was a cold autumnal Sunday. With a mountain of items on our To Do list and a three year old demanding attention, the (self-proclaimed) Northern Love Machine and I were feeling fraught, up-tight. In the end I left him to his work and put aside my own list to later that evening.
I took Frog to the beach and we escaped from all demands for a full day.
Who says the beach is just for summer, anyway?
We made sand pies and searched for pretty shells. We paddled in the sea – although only my three year old had the bravery to dip her painted toenails into the icy water. We ran and jumped and rolled about.
It was fun. We’ll go back again soon.
How do you escape from it all? Have you got a secret spot you like to go to?

What a lovely post! You’re so right, who wrote the rule book on only going to the beach in the sunshine? #BeInspired

Absolutely! Sometimes the beach is just as good – better even – in the off season months as it’s not as busy!

We don’t have a specific spot but even just going to my local park is a great distraction!

The park is always a winner for us too. x

You’ve inspired me. Not to go to the beach but just to take Grace and head off somewhere fun for the day x

Sometimes a day just taking off somewhere new is the best thing for everyone. x
