As Mother’s Day approaches again, you may be struggling to think of gift ideas to top those of previous years. While you obviously want to give your mum something heartfelt and meaningful, you also want it to be surprising and exciting. If you want to give your mum a gift to remember this year, why not give her something unique and unusual? Here are five ideas to get you started…
1. A personalised ‘best mum’ newspaper
You can make your mum a national star, at least in the comfort of her own home, with a personalised ‘best mum’ newspaper. Choose a photograph that means something special to her – preferably of both of you during a happy time in your life. You can then write a few words about why your mum has been bestowed the honour of ‘Britain’s best mum’. Specialist printing companies will recreate the front page of a national newspaper with your mum’s photo and name plastered all over it. You can then choose from a range of attractive frames so it can be given pride of place on a wall.
2. A personalised jigsaw puzzle
If your mum is partial to jigsaw puzzles, you can buy her a gift that will mean something extra special this Mother’s Day. You can choose a favourite photograph or create a unique message that will be printed onto a luxury wooden jigsaw puzzle. Your mum can spend hours putting the pieces together while gradually creating a heartfelt message. Specialist puzzle manufacturers will often let you draw or write your own message – giving your mum something truly unique when the big day arrives.
3. Kiqplan weight loss plan for women
If your mum has told you she wants to get into shape, you can give her a helping hand this Mother’s Day. The Kiqplan weight loss plan for women is a fitness app with a difference. The user enters a selection of personal information and pairs the app with a mobile device or activity tracker. The app will then deliver a series of workout videos, nutritious recipes and lifestyle tips with the aim of getting the user into shape. There are achievement badges to be earned along the way, and the odd motivational push in the right direction when weekly fitness and lifestyle goals aren’t met. In effect, you’ll be giving your mum her very own personal trainer.
4. A personalised novel
If your mum has a favourite book, you can give her a specially printed one – with her name on the cover. As well as having your mother’s name next to her literary hero, you can also compose a very special message and have that printed onto the book too. And if all that isn’t impressive enough, the names of the main characters will be changed to the names of family members throughout the story!
5. A Hollywood Walk of Fame star
You can mow immortalise your mum’s name in true Hollywood fashion by giving her a presentation plaque in the style of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You’ll be able to have her name printed inside the star in plated gold, and there’s also the opportunity to have a heartfelt message written underneath. This gift is perfect if your mum is a fan of the movies. Mother’s Day is a great time to show your mum how much she means to you. By giving her something out of the ordinary this year, you can make sure that this Mother’s Day will be one that lives long in the memory.
