YouTube is a funny old thing. If you’d have told me this time three years ago that I’d have spent most of my morning editing a video depicting a regular family weekend I’d have laughed at you. Who’d want to see that? Why bother? I’d joke. Yet here I am.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how I wanted to make more videos. Not just family diary style videos but chatty ones too. I’ve been really getting into YouTube over the past year or so and wanted to be a part of the action. While I’ve dabbled with video for the past couple of years, filming occasional vlogs about mum life and regular videos of our family travels, making family video diaries and consistently filming and uploading isn’t something I’ve managed to keep up.
This is something I’d like to change. I love looking back on these videos and I enjoy the chatty side of making videos too. I guess I must just miss being on the radio or something (!).
(I should probably mention the photo above was taken by pretending to be tourists in Exeter on Saturday. My husband nearly died of embarrassment – he’s not a happy photo poser. And the T’shirt is one I regularly harp on about over on Instagram. It’s by a brand called Mutha.Hood and the net profits go to Save The Children. I bought it at the beginning of summer and have basically lived in it ever since.)
Anyway, here’s the latest in my vlog installment. It includes a typical car row with the NLM (PARKING IS SO STRESSFUL!), a trip to the beach and some shopping. It was just a regular weekend complete with toddler tantrums and wine and I know in years to come it’ll probably fade from all memory.
P.S. Are you on YouTube? Let’s be friends. Come and say hello – I’m always looking for new relatable channels to subscribe to!

Ah, love Exeter. It’s where I met my husband and got married!
Molly says
Oh really?! Yes it’s such a lovely city isn’t it? Reminds me a bit of my home town of Bristol!

Ah Molly, that was such a beautiful watch! I can’t wait for the next one! It’s just so refreshing to see normal families doing normal things and you have edited it so beautifully – love the trolly cam! Brilliant! Also, the moment where one of the girls asks why you aren’t doing Park & Ride and you land Simon in it. BECAUSE DADDY DOESN’T WANT TO…. so funny and relatable. xo

Thank you Mel – your encouragement means so much! Sometimes when I’m editing these I’m thinking “What’s the point?! No one’s going to watch anyway!” but they’re nice to look back, even if the only people who watch are me and my mum! x

“Back from the beach, obviously, because I’m in my living room…” – you’re a natural Molly 😉
Molly says
Ha ha – yeah I hadn’t thought that one through!
