This is the face of a toddler who has just discovered The Best Dress Ever.
When I was asked if I’d be interested in reviewing a tutu from the brand new Mrs W Tutus I knew there was only one answer. With an almost-three year old nurturing an obsession with dressing up, I knew she’d be keen.
Turns out, I couldn’t have been more right.
(Note the bright yellow wellies and pink sunglasses as accessories.)
My wannabe ballerina twirled and whirled and fell over – then twirled and whirled some more, before cracking on with the important job of gardening.
Handmade in Kate’s home, the tutu is finished to a really high quality – complete with detachable top for days when only the full tutu skirt is needed.
I was really impressed with the attention to detail – cute little buttons and hand sewn ribbons – something you don’t always find in the mass produced tutus around.
It’s a definite hit in our house. So much so, that it’s caused daily arguments conversations over when is and when isn’t an acceptable time to wear a tutu (the daily, “I wear tutu to bed Mummy” has yet to end).
If you’re interested in bagging one of these beauties for yourself, you can find Mrs W Tutus (a.k.a. Kate) on Twitter and Facebook. That’s also where you can also check out some of her other amazing creations – including bridesmaid dresses and disco tutus.
Now, any advice as to how I persuade my child that she can’t replace every single pair of pyjamas she owns with a tutu?!

This post is well timed reading (seeing?) for me in light of my sudden yearning to have a tutu. I never did when I was little, to my knowledge, so it’s funny to have the hankering now. A little bit of the yearning has been satisfied vicariously thanks to you. :p
