After being a party cynic she’s recently been won over by the virtues of a big Pinterest inspired children’s party. With a party coming up for my eldest I can totally appreciate where she’s coming […]

You’re right – having fun and creating happy memories is the number one reason I want this party to be special. If F wasn’t so interested and excited by all the little touches I probably wouldn’t be as bothered, but as she has shown such a keen enthusiasm in it all I can’t help but get involved in the Pinterest mania!

I was of exactly the same ‘what-is-this-madness?’ mindset…and have now ended up a kids party planner! Pinterest is my number one planning tool. I find it so ironic that I, who was never a big consumer and never interested in keeping up with the Joneses, am so into this party stuff. For my own piece of mind, I am trying to find that balance between providing a lovely party that kids and mums form wonderful memories around, and getting sucked into over-the-top elaborateness that the kids don’t appreciate. I’ve come to realise that people really do get joy from the thought and effort that go into those creative little touches. And as a new(ish) mum myself, I know how much it means to give your child a wonderful day.

I still have to laugh at myself and how the tables turn…

I’m always apologetic about the things I do as well but I don’t see why when I think about it. It’s not always about showing off and spoiling your child – it’s about having fun and creating happy memories.

I’ve pinned it by the way!
