I live in Barcelona, when my girls were born people gave me buckets of cologne- I didn’t get it and still don’t but it is considered the norm here and is nothing to do with encouraging kids to grow older quicker. It’s a cultural thing. Just like piercing ears in the hospital, I was so scared they were going to take my little girls away and pierce their ears! They didn’t but people still ask why they don’t wear cologne or have their ears pierced. They are 4 and 2!

*rolls eyes* Let kids be kids, I say. Perfume is something most girls get into as teenagers (I remember buying my first White Musk) and there’s a definite link to both masking body odours and making yourself seem more attractive. Neither of which are things children of five need to worry about. Ridic.

Yes it is just bonkers….Kids should be smelling like kids not lemon blossom, Spanish lavender and mint….How does that suit a young child perfectly!! Madness! x
