My son – who had never had a tantrum in his life – chose my best friend’s wedding reception as the perfect moment to have his biggest ever hissy fit. In the middle of the speeches. I was so embarrassed I cried!

It does sound funny when you tell it back though I imagine it was far from funny at the time!

There was a toddler at my first wedding and she chanted all through the speeches making me furious! I didn’t have kids back then but when we watched the video back all we could hear was this child talking and my dad struggling to concentrate on his wonderful speech.

I won’t lie – it’s not a peaceful occasion with a toddler! Take lots of treats and books though and I’m sure all will be well. And discourage any form of nursery rhymes at least a week before the big day!
