I recently started the 5:2 Fasting Diet. It’s the one where you only eat 500 calories two days of the week (not consecutive days) and eat normally the rest of the time. It’s also the diet that everyone seems to be on, including my own parents. The reason for my sudden interest in health? I’ll admit, it’s partly vanity, but it’s also partly to do with wanting to feel, just, better.
It’s the same reason I’ve decided to up my fruit and veg intake, as well as drinking lots more water. I want to feel healthy again and am hoping it might help me battle the lack of sleep and give me a bit more energy. So that’s why I was genuinely excited to get a Fruitdrop office fruit delivery when I was at work the other day.
You know how you can deliveries of sandwiches to your office? Or milk? Well Fruitdrop can deliver a whole big box of mixed fruit to your work from the very reasonable cost of £20. Delicious, fresh, colourful fruit to keep you going until lunch? Don’t mind if I do…
Within minutes, the plums and pears – plus a couple of bananas – had been devoured by a hungry, sleep-deprived breakfast team (there’s only three of us, but we were hungry OK?!). There was enough left over to bring home a big haul of fresh fruit to my fruit-loving toddler, plus leave the rest in the office for everyone else.
I haven’t tasted fruit that juicy and fresh since I was on holiday in Turkey a couple of years ago. We tend to buy most of our groceries from the supermarket, but by the time we get round to eating them they’re a few days old and past their best. Plus, there have been occasions when I’ve got home from the weekly shop to tuck into a (newly bought) satsuma and been left with a shriveled, dry, tasteless bit of pulpy mess in my mouth. Appetising, not.
The idea of getting such a variety of fruit delivered to work is one I like. Yes, cakes are nice too, but they’re also not great for the waistline. Fruit is healthy, tasty, colourful and more-ish. And the Fruitdrop fruit is top quality too.
If you’re a boss looking for an original way to perk up your team on a rainy afternoon, this is one idea I would thoroughly recommend. You know what they say – a happy, healthy team of workers is way more productive than a grumpy, hungry, tired one. (I don’t know exactly who says that, but it sounds like the kind of corporate thing to be said in corporatey places.)
